Shea Holbrook is the Co-Owner and race car driver at Team SR in Groveland, FL. She has spent over ten years on the track and is a nationally recognized race car driver running in SCCA Club Racing, NASCAR Late Models, INDYCAR’s Developmental Ladder Series at Skip Barber Racing to Professional Sports Car Racing in the Pirelli World Challenge and the IHRA Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series. Shea grew up as a nationally ranked competitive water skier so competition is part of her DNA. She became a part of the TrueCar’s Women Empowered Initiative and she was recognized by the Women’s Sports Foundation, earning the “Women in the Winners Circle" Project Podium Grant. Currently, she is driving in the Touring Car Division in a Honda Accord V6 Coupe. Shea lives by her quote, “Fear is a state of mind. Will is an action taken.”

Gracie Hackenberg has a huge passion for motorsports. She is a senior engineering major at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She started a collegiate race team at Smith and prepped a 1999 Mazda Miata to compete in the Grassroots Motorsports 2017 Challenge. Gracie began her career in the world of modern racing working at Hale Motorsports while they competed in the Pirelli World Challenge and now works at Donovan Motorsports learning to prepare and modify vintage racecars.  By the way, Tim Suddard, editor of Grassroots Motorsports Magazine was a previous guest here on Cars Yeah.

Melissa Paris is a professional motorcycle racer, an avid bicyclist, motocross and flat track enthusiast, and a self-described bad ass who started racing in 2005. She didn’t start riding until she was 20 years old. In 2009, Melissa was the first female to qualify for a World Supercup Race. In 2011, she was the only female to test a MotoGP M1 prototype racebike in the history of that series. In 2012, she raced in the British BSB Series at Brands Hatch. In 2013, Melissa was in the top ten to finish the Daytona 200. Then in 2014, she was fifth overall in the Spanish CEB Superstock Championship, and the first female team in history to compete in a Suzuka Endurance Race. In 2015, she took first place at the 24 Hours of Barcelona and won the WERA West Superbike Championship. In 2016, she was a member of the first all-girl team to qualify and compete at the Bol d’Or 24 Hours Additionally, in 2017, she founded the MP13 Racing Team to promote young talent and the first all-girl team to qualify and compete in the Lemans 24 Hour.

Aurora Straus is a race car driver who competes in the #36 Richard Mille BMW M4 in the Pirelli World Challenge and today, she’s leading in the Championship points with 6 races left in the season. She is currently the only female, teenage racecar driver competing professionally in North America.  Her racing started at 15 years old when she competed in the International Trophy Cup and Skip Barber Series, racing Porsche Caymans and Mazda MX-5s.  Along with a passion for racing, Aurora enjoys studying, singing, and playing the piano and guitar. Aurora has been accepted to Harvard University’s class of 2022 and plans to pursue degrees in both mechanical engineering and English literature.

Chuck Queener is an automotive artist and designer who lives near Westport, Connecticut.  He embraced a passion for Ferraris from the age of 12 and attended Art Center in Pasedena, California. Chuck was a driving instructor at the Jim Russell International Racing Drivers School and served as the President of the Ferrari Owners Club. He worked for Motor Trend and Road & Track magazines before becoming the founding editor of Cavallino. Year later he helped develop Rosso Ferrari for Ferrari North America as its editor and designer. He designed several books on Ferrari and Porsche and in 2006 he worked with David Bull on the gold-medal-winning The Alphabet and the Automobile. Today chuck is a contributing artist at Road  & Track magazine.

Chad McQueen is a race car driver, actor, film producer, and consummate automotive enthusiast. He has raced in many forms of motorsports including Motocross, the Baja 1000, SCCA, Vintage events, and many other venues. He’s a big fan of early Porsches and still owns and drives his father’s 1958 Speedster in the hills around Los Angeles. Chad was a producer on a feature documentary titled Steve McQueen, The Man & Le Mans. It’s the story of a life changing passion for racing and his father’s involvement in the making of the iconic 1970 movie Le Mans. You can learn more about this film when I had Chad here on Cars Yeah, show number 450 on the Cars Yeah website. Today he continues to support The Boys Republic, a place that turned around his father’s life, by putting on The Friends of Steve McQueen Car Show that takes place on June 2 in Chino Hills, California on the Boys Republic campus.

Ben Erickson is an automotive author, restoration consultant, concours judge, and has authored books about French cars with past Cars Yeah guest Peter Larsen. In addition to being a connoisseur of the grand French classics, he is a Maseratisti fan having owned a number of them. Ben has a special interest in all things Iso as well as Swedish and American cars from the challenging years in the 1970s and 1980s when, as Ben says, “They did the best with what they had”. Although originally from Minnesota and brief stays in Finland, his time is split between Denmark and Thailand. As a linguist and fluent in five languages including Finnish, Ben also owns a translation company. Ben’s latest venture with Peter Larsen is a three volume series titled The Kellner Affair, Matters of Life and Death.

David Story is an artist with a passion for automobiles. After 15 years in the construction business, he shut down his 45 home-a-year business and pursued his lifelong passion to be an artist. He moved to Inkom, Idaho and built a home and studio on the side of a mountain. David’s been a gear-head his entire life and has a passion for riding motorcycles. He paints a variety of genre from hot rods to race cars, farmers and their equipment, and the iconic Indy 500. David has 7 children, 21 grandchildren, and he, along with his wife of 40 years, do volunteer work in Uganda and Ghana Africa along with volunteer work in Idaho.

Ron Harris is the Co-Chairman, along with Chad McQueen, of the Friends of Steve McQueen Car and Motorcycle Show, a position he has held since the show’s inception in 2007. The show benefits The Boys Republic in Chino Hills, California. He was a vintage racer running with VARA, HSR West, and HMSA racing his 1965 Porsche 356 for 12 years. Ron started his own company, Better Beverages, a fountain beverage supply company to the foodservice industry, a company he owned an ran from 1969 till 2017. He is a past President of the International Beverage Dispensing Equipment Association, the Southern California Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the 356 Porsche Club of Southern California.

Darren Reighard is the Founder and CEO of Cars of Carlisle Car Culture and Car Community. He is a podcaster with a focus on fostering a positive car community while celebrating car culture from the epicenter of the automotive swap meet world in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He’s the Docent Chairman at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Race Car Chair and board member of the Ironstone Concours, he is on the Car Sourcing Committee and is the Lead Docent at the La Jolla Concours, a Docent at the Blackhawk Auto Museum, a Docent and leads the Hagerty Jr. Judges Program at the Hillsborough Concours and he is a photojournalist for various automotive publications. As if that isn’t enough, Wayne is the President and CEO of the Lodi Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Lehman Keen is an American race car driver who was born and lives in Georgia. Know as Leh by his friends and fans, he has competed in the United SportsCar Championship and drove for teams including Alex Job Racing, Brumos Racing, Dempsey Racing, and Ferbacher Loles Racing driving Porsche GT3, Ferrari 458, and Mazda RX-8 FT cars. His newest venture is the Keen Project, a company he started in 2013 where they build turnkey modified Porsche 911s built in a theme and design that Leh has developed. One is the Safari style Porsche, a car that is inspired by late 70s East African and Paris/Dakar race cars, but his is a daily driver street car you can take to the track or off road. He also does driving for NBC Sports and automotive commercials.

Julian Avent owns Werks 11, a Porsche service shop in Temple, Texas. There he does OEM restorations and mechanical servicing with his team who are all Porsche specialists. He served in the Army for 20 years and all that while Julian knew he would open his own Porsche shop when he retired from the service. While he was in the Army he apprenticed in two Porsche shops, one in Belgium and the other in the Netherlands. He purchased his first Porsche, a 914, when he was just 16 years old and cut his mechanical teeth doing all the repairs and service on that car. Since then he’s owned over 30 Porsches ranging from 356s to 997s and he’s worked on the marque for more than 25 years now.

Frankie Waters is passionate about automotive restoration and her current project, a 1967 Mustang Fastback, is a vehicle her grandpa spotted that had been in a guys back yard since 1986. That was two year ago. Since then she’s done rust repair, paint, welding, replaced or restored parts, and rebuilt the motor. She won a video competition, writes a blog, and started her own YouTube channel that has a growing number of subscribers. Frankie’s been featured in Mustang Monthly Magazine, appeared in a video with Kellie Coff from Steeroids and Rob Kinnan, editor of the Mustang Monthly magazine. Oh, did I mention that Frankie, is only 14 years old?

Mark Halliar is the Publisher of Region Rides, a free monthly magazine that showcases the automobile, truck, and bike culture in Northwest Indiana. The area of Indiana where he lives is called the Region and it holds an extremely eclectic population due to its steel and oil industry. The car hobby in the Region is a melting pot where you’ll discover muscle cars, mini-trucks, bagged motorcycles, custom built choppers, modern sports cars including Camaros and Mustangs and Superbirds. Mark worked as a graphic designer for 18 years and then for a newspaper. Today he works for an advertising agency designing signage for major clients including Coca-Cola and McDonald’s.
