He founded 1-of-1 Bespoke where he creates high-end custom design pieces for automotive enthusiasts who have an eye for design. His custom art prints are of cars and bikes that he draws from scratch, and tailored for his clients. In addition to his creations at 1-of-1 Bespoke Steve is the founder at Custom Creative, an advertising and design firm in Sydney where they fill the gap between ‘big agencies’ and ‘boutique design firms’ and create brand identity, graphic design, marketing, packaging, brochures, retail design, and more.

Both Bill Warne and Tom Cotter are past guests here on Cars Yeah. Bill is the Founder of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, one of the top events in the world. He’s been a journalist, photographer, racer, and ran a Porsche 911 in the infamous Cannonball run in 1975. Tom Cotter is an author who wrote the icon six-book series on barn finds starting with The Cobra in the Barn. He’s a long time magazine contributor and travels around the country looking for cool cars and writing stories. Craig Watkins grew up in San Francisco and at the age of six started karting around his parents property. That morphed in to dune buggies and Baja Bugs. His college degree and career was in manufacturing engineering. Craig first raced in the SCORE off road racing series throughout the 80s with Greg Aronson winning 8 races in 42 starts in class 10. He club raced his 1973 Porsche 911 and that lead to an engineering position with Porsche 996 GT3 Cup cars and then he joined team Flying Lizard Motorsports where he was the chief engineer. It was there he met Roland Kussmaul, the Porsche factory racing engineer who was in charge of the GT3 product line. This lead to Craig’s first book Kussmaul Chronicles, The Story of Roland Kussmaul’s Contributions To Porsche’s Total Crushing Domination.

George Saitas is a photographer who specializes in automotive studio and location photography with an emphasis on classic and exotic cars. His favorite projects are commissions where he creates unique, one-of-one single-print, collectable images. He uses photography to create a story and one technique is using psychological layering in his images that act as time bombs in the viewer’s unconscious. Now living in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California, George attended Parsons School of Design in New York. His editorial work has adorned over 45 publications worldwide and his photography has been exhibited in galleries and concours events worldwide.

Emily Miller is the President of Soulside Network, a public relations and sports marketing firm. She is also the founder of the first women’s navigation rally in the U.S., the Rebelle Rally. It is an event that spans 7 days and covers 1,200 miles in California. The focus is on skill, not speed where participants are not allowed any GPS, mobile telephones, nor outside assistance. In her driving adventures, Emily has earned numerous podium finishes and wins including the Baja 1000 and she is the first woman to solo the longest off-road race in the U.S. She has coached over 4,000 people and produced over 100 experiential automotive events. Emily is a recipient of the Women’s Automotive Alliance International “Spirit of Leadership Award” and her mantra is “to finish first, you must first finish”.

Jerry Lane is an automotive artist who has been drawing cars since he was five years old. Since then he’s bee creating original automotive drawings for collectors around the world. Jerry has painted full size murals, color sketches, an oil paintings of many different marques and genres from engine details to collector cars, race cars, and multi-view works. You’ll find Jerry at car events around the country doing what he loves best, drawing and painting cars. Jerry spent most of his career in the gaming business as a third generation member of his family where he often put on car shows at the casinos.

Aaron Jenkins is the Editor-in-Chief at Forza magazine. Forza is a Ferrari focused publication packed with intriguing articles from the heart of the Ferrari world including incisive road tests, history, race reports, insider news, and stunning photography. Christoph Maeder is a designer from Hannover, Germany whose passion for automobiles runs deep. He studied mechanical and fotografical engineering in school and switched to visual communications where he found his passion. Christoph worked for Zakspeed, a team running a Viper that won the 24 Hours of Nüburgring and Lechner Racing who ran Porsches and then with the Jetalliance who ran an Aston Martin DBR9. From that the book DBR9 The Definitive History came about where he did the design, layout, 3D modeling and the research and writing. Randy Beikmann is an engineer who has spent decades using one passion, physics, to work on another, cars. His career including working in noise and vibration at the General Motors Milford Proving Grounds for over 30 years where he focused on the noise of engines, transmissions, and electric motors. He also loves to teach, helping to design and teach courses for other engineers. In 2015, Bentley Publishers published his first book, Physics for Gearheads. It combines both of his passions, explaining the physics that really makes cars tick. It is a book he wishes he’d had when he was a teenager. Randy received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, and currently holds four patents.

Richard Truesdell is an automotive photographer and journalist. He produces the Automotive Traveler magazine and Legendary Cougar Magazine. His early entrepreneurial career included owning and operating a car stereo store. He began writing audio reviews for publications including Car and Driver, Autotronics, and Motor Trend. He became the editor of Car Audio and Electronics at Primedia and from there left to become a freelance contributing writer to dozens of automotive magazines. Today Richard is working on a quarterly replacement for Motor Trend Classic planned for a launch later this year.

Scott Speed is a former Formula One Driver and today is the defending Global Rallycross champion. He was the first American in Formula One since Michael Andretti when he joined Scuderia Toro Rosso during the 2006, 2007 seasons. He returned to the United States to race NASCAR and started his Rallycross career in 2013 with a win in his X Games debut in Brazil. In 2014 Scott joined the Volkswagen factory Andretti Rallycross Team and won the title in 2015 with a record eight podiums in 12 rounds. Scott is also an ambassador for the new SEGA game Motorsport Manager, an exciting video game for PC and Mac platforms.

Doug Pray is the President of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Company in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. There they supply the world with parts for the iconic marques as well as restoring Auburns and Cords. It’s a company his father purchased in 1960, moving it from Auburn, Indiana in to an abandoned pickle factory in Oklahoma. Doug worked in his father’s business when he was 14 in the 60s and stayed until the company closed in 1981. Being an entrepreneur Doug brought it back to life. He has drilled oil wells, owned a drive-in restaurant, started a chrome plating business, ran a successful business restoring, exhibiting, and selling antique gas pumps. In 1997 Doug made a u-turn and became a Chiropractor starting a successful clinic in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

RJ Valentine discovered a way to combine his passion for automobiles and racing in to his business. He’s raced for over 40 years with over 400 pro starts including the Trans Am Series. He’s won the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, driven for PTG Motorsports, and competed in the Grand-Am GT series. A lifetime entrepreneur, he founded the MBA Group in 1969 and one of their many successes was the Jiffy Lube franchise and Lo-Jack Car Security Systems. In 2000 he opened F1 Boston, a European-style indoor kart racetrack and then an outdoor track in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Filippo Perini is the Head of Design at Italdesign in Italy. Italdesign is a world leader in the provision of development services for the automotive industry. Born in 1965 Filippo worked as a freelance designer for Alfa Romeo, Fiat Auto, and Aprilia as a consultant for the Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations. In 1995 he joined the Alfa Romeo Centro Stile and in 2001 he was appointed Director of Exterior Design of Alfa Romeo. He worked on the Alfa 159, 147, and 8C Competizione concept car. He was the Senior Exterior Designer at Audi and at Lamborghini he was the Head of Exterior Design. From 2006 to 2015 Filippo managed many successful projects as Director of the Automobili Lamborghini Centro Stile before his current role at Italdesign.

Paolo Feraboli is the Founder and Director of Automobili Lamborghini Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory (ACSL) in Seattle, Washington. He and his team are responsible for the development of new CFRP technologies and structure/chassis concepts for Lamborghini. Paolo is also the Founder and CEO of Gemini Composites, a design firm focused on product development, including design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing components for the automotive and numerous other industries. Since 2013 Dr. Feraboli is also a Research Professor at the Nagoya Institute of Technology in Japan. He is the recipient of the 2010 Young Investigator Award for Composite Materials and the founding Chair of the CMH-17 Working Group on Crashworthiness.

Ken Okuyama is the CEO of Ken Okuyama Design in Yamagata, Japan. Ken was the Chief Design Director for General Motors, a Senior Designer for Porsche AG, and the Design Director for Pinifarina. Among his many automotive designs are the Ferrari Enzo and Maserati Quattroporte. He’s designed numerous projects including motorcycles, Furniture, robots, and architecture. In 2007 he founded his company where he and his team provide design consulting to companies around the globe in numerous industries. They also design and produce limited production automobiles, eyewear, and interior products under the Ken Okuyama brand. Ken is currently director of Yanmar Holdings Company Limited, he’s authored many books and he is a visiting professor at several universities.

Renzo Porro lives in Italy and he is a mechanical engineer whose 38 year career at Fiat included testing, design, research, and sales. He was involved in many of their successful models including the Fiat 128, X19, 124, Uno, Ducato, Lancia Delta and Thema, and the Alfa Romeo 156. His last post at Fiat was as their deputy Vice President of Engineering and Vice President of After Sales Services. Upon retiring he’s worked as a consultant for Sumitomo Electrics of Japan and TRW here in the United States. Renzo also founded three engineering companies that design automobile parts. One of his passions is sailing and he wrote a book on sailing techniques that is considered a must-read for those who love to sail.

Doug Herbert is a nationally recognized top fuel drag racing champion. He is the first driver to run over 300 MPH during NHRA eliminations, and his career best speed tops 330 MPH. But in 2008 Doug put his racing career aside when he lost his two young sons, Jon and James, in a tragic car crash. After experiencing a tremendous amount of loss and grief, Doug decided to create a free driving program that teaches advanced safe driving techniques, and founded B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe), a non-profit 501(c)(3) Teen Pro-Active Defensive Driving Program. For over 8 years Doug and B.R.A.K.E.S. have been traveling to various US cities to help prevent injuries and save lives by training and educating teenage drivers and their parents.

Born in 1954, Peter Larsen has been a life long gearhead. He lives in Copenhagen and is currently writing on a book about Joseph Figoni. He serves as a Pebble Beach class judge and he also judges at the Concours d’Elegance at Chantilly outside Paris and at Schloss Dyck in Germany. Peter has a wide taste in cars, having owned automobiles as varied as a Bizzarrini, Facel-Vega, Duesenberg Model J and a number of Maseratis, including two Ghiblis and a 5000GT. His enduring fascination has been with French cars in general and Talbot-Lago in particular, including ownership of two T26 Grand Sports. He and Ben Erickson co-authored the book Talbot-Lago Grand Sport: The Car from Paris and Jacques Saoutchik – Maître Carrossier.

Sam Moses is a journalist and author who began writing as a seaman apprentice on a Navy cruiser in the South China Sea. Two days after his discharge he was on the Isle of Man writing about motorcycles. He filed race reports from the Mojave Desert which landed him a job as Motorsports Writer for Sports Illustrated for 18 years. He began racing in 1965 at Watkins Glen on a motorcycles and today he runs in vintage events in his Oldsmobile Cutlass, the “Skoll Bandit”, the same racecar in his book Fast Guys Rich Guys And Idiots , originally released in 1985, which he recently remastered for release. I caught up with Sam at the Pacific Northwest Historic races where I enjoyed watching him mix it up on the track.

Vic Elford and Ronnie Peterson drove for his F1 Team in 1969 and 1970 in a Cooper T86 and a McLaren M7B and a March 701. In the 1960s Colin ran a mail order business, The Complete Automobilist, that supplied hard-to-find parts. He was the last of the serious privateers in Formula One and has spent his life traveling the world, tracking down, restoring, and racings some the rarest, fastest cars ever made. His book, Colin Crabbe: Thrill of the Chase is an autobiography of his exciting life around racing and automobiles.

He’s competed four times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and his first time there he won the IMSA Class. Chip won the 24 Hours of Daytona in a Porsche 962, 12 Hours of Sebring in a Nissan GTP race car, made five CART starts, and is a Camel GT Series Champion. Reeves Callaway is the founder of Callaway Cars, Callaway Engineering, Callaway Carbon, and Callaway Competition. Since 1977 he and his team provide driving enthusiasts with maximum satisfaction by producing specialty vehicles, engineering services, and performance products that showcase technological sophistication, artistry in design, and quality plus beauty in craftsmanship. Reeves raced up till 1973 winning the National Championship in SCCA’s Formula Vee, he was a driving instructor, and a designer and builder. Callaway is an iconic brand with the Chevrolet marque.

Jay Koka is an internationally respected artist whose style in automotive themed art is a combination of highly realistic, technical and impressionistic. His art is collected by private and public audiences and hangs in galleries, offices, and homes worldwide. Jay’s paintings have been on numerous concours event posters, in books, online, and created for special commissions for club events and shows. His new book titled 30:30 is an extensive profile of his art. This year he’s created his 13th poster for the Ferrari club of American International Meets. Jay is a 27-year member of the Automotive Fine Arts Society and serves on their board. In 2012, Jay was awarded the coveted "Peter Helck Award" at the annual AFAS premiere exhibition at Pebble Beach. Jay is an avid super bike rider who enjoys time on a Ducati 999 and he’s passionate about automobiles.

Tyler Kicera is a race car driver and native of Lancaster Pennsylvania, better known as Amish country where they drive horse drawn buggies. Tyler likes working with multiple horsepower vehicles. He started his racing career at six in quarter midgets at a small asphalt oval in Honeybrook, Pennsylvania. After earning a degree in Architecture he began his career in the live entertainment business and has worked with Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, U2, and the Rolling Stones. When he’s not working at the TAIT Towers in a recent venture within that organization or hanging with rock stars, Tyler is tearing up the SCCA US Majors Tour in a 2002 Spec Miata. In 2015 he was crowned the US Majors Tour National Champion out of 268 competitors.

Shayan Bokaie leads all of the product and tech development at Pertrolicious. At Petrolicious they celebrate the inventions, personalities, and aesthetics of people and their automobiles through videos and stories. Shayan’s vision was to shake up the classic car industry when he started a classic car marketplace and then partnered with Afshin Behnia, the founder of Petrolicious who is a past Cars Yeah guest. Recently launched, Shayan’s plan is to bring a fresh perspective to the collector car market through distinct, visual storytelling.

Rob Siegel, a.k.a. ‘The Hack Mechanic’, has been writing his monthly column for the BMW Car Club of America’s Roundel Magazine for 30 years. His book Memoirs of a Hack Mechanic was published by Bentley Publishers in 2013 and he received rave reviews by The New York Times and Publisher’s Weekly. His newest book, The Hack Mechanic Guide to European Automotive Electrical Systems was published in June 2016. A car guy since he could walk, Rob has 13 cars including BMWs, a dead Lotus Europa Twin Cam Special which will be the car that sends him over the edge.

John Willhoit is the President of Willhoit Auto Restoration in Long Beach California. Since 1976 John and his talented team have been restoring and caring for Porsche 356s and older 911s. John D’Agostino is the owner of Celebrity Kustoms / D’Agostino Kustoms in Discovery Bay, California. Born in Pittsburg, John got in to building and customizing model cars when he was a child. Inspired by the works of Barris, Winfield, Hines, Starbird, and Watson, John embarked on a lifelong journey of designing and building custom cars. Laura Milani is the Director and CEO at IAAD, the Italian University for Design located in Torino, Italy. IAAD offers students bachelors and masters of science in design degrees in numerous areas of study including digital communication design, textile and fashion design, and courses in design of transportation means and mobility. Laura studied architecture and design after high school and specialized in marketing communications and international marketing. At only 28 years of age she became Director at IADD in 2000.

Dean Kirkland is a highly accomplished photographer and commercial, television, and film director. With a unique style he transitioned from an A-list photographer to a respected filmmaker with clients including Lamborghini, Clint Eastwood, and more. He teamed with Le Mans winning driver Rick Knoop and established K&K Productions. Their first project is an engaging look in to the Pebble Beach Road Races from 1950 through 1956 titled ‘Racing Through the Forest’ debuting this Autumn. He was the lead host for the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auctions airing on Velocity. Chris has appeared on numerous show including: The Insider’, Entertainment Tonight, Chopper Live, and Gold Rush Live on the Discover Channel plus the radio show SpeedFreaks. He has also hosted for the TV infomercial CarMD, was a presenter for the NFL Network and Skyscraper Live and he’s the Discover Channel’s go-to host for live events. Kim was most recently the senior business and partner manager for Microsoft’s Turn 10 Studios where he supported partnerships for the Forza Motorsport game franchise on Xbox. He also held the role as executive editor at MSN Carpoint. David Donner is a 28 year racing veteran and former overall winner and current title-holder in Time Attack 2 at the Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb. In fact he is a five-time winner at Pikes Peak. In 2015 he piloted a 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S for a win. He raced at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the Monterey Historic Races, driving a 1971 Ferrari 512M and he’s raced in the Panoz Pro Series and the American Le Mans Series. He’s raced internationally in New Zealand as well. David is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and he’s appeared in numerous television commercials for Range Rover, Audi, Subaru, and Porsche.

Tom Croteau serves as Deputy Commissioner, Global Commerce for the Georgia Department of Economic Development. His role is to lead Georgia’s Global Commerce team to increase jobs and investments through locating and expanding businesses. Tom joined the department in 1996 and has worked in a number of other capacities within the agency. He’s involved in number of organizations and associations and currently serves on the board of the Georgia Economic Developers Association and the Georgia Quick Start Industry Services Advisory Council. Mitch Snow,a Colorado Springs native, is one of the youngest professional international motorsport promoters and event organizers in the world. He serves as the Director of Promotion & Legacy at The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Brought to you by Gran Turismo. Over 50 years ago his Grandfather Charlie served on the race’s technical committee, sponsored the event, and opened the doors of Snow Automotive to give out of town competitors a place to wrench on their race cars throughout the grueling race week.  Mitch’s father raced the hill and took Mitch to his first race in 1995; and he hasn’t missed a race since. Jacques Flynn is an industrial designer, automotive designer, and leather goods innovator. He graduated with a degree in transportation design from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He is a Lead Exterior Designer working at Mazda’s Design Studio in Irvine, California where his latest project was the exterior designs for the 2016 MX-5 automobiles. In 2012 he founded JAQET after being frustrated and unable to find a leather wallet that met his standards. He learned about working in leather and put his design skills to work creating a line of handcrafted leather goods including: wallets, lanyards, iPad portfolios, belts, and more.

Rob Pitts is the owner of Pitts Truck Service in Greenville, South Carolina. This 40-year-old company has been providing truck and trailer repair from light service to full overhauls. Last year Rob started Hot Rods & Happy Hour, a monthly car event like the well-known cars and coffee events that take place across the country. His event has grown and will be expanding to other states. Along with getting like-minded enthusiasts together to enjoy their cars, trucks, and motorcycles, Hot Rods & Happy Hour raises money to help children affected by Autism. Pat McCue is the automotive technology teacher for the Northshore Automotive Technology program at Bothell High School in Bothell, WA. Before that he was an ASE and Ford Master Technician. In 2012 he and his students converted a 2003 BMW 330i to an all electric and presented the project at the WSU Imagine Tomorrow competition. This garnered the attention of an education research foundation titled Foundry 10 and a new project blossomed where they built an all electric dragster they named Shock & Awe. Foundry 10 was started in 2013 with the goal of gaining a better understanding of how people learn.
