He’s an MBA from Vanderbilt University and has 20 years of experience as a Product Manager building software products for startups and financial services firms. Gleamfire is John’s first entrepreneurial step in to new product development in the automotive industry.

Joe Marshall is a designer and fabricator with a background in aerospace engineering. David Swig is a Specialist in Bonhams Collectors' Motorcars Department. His work includes consigning and researching vintage cars and maintaining an active presence in the historic motoring scene. He is a lifelong automobile enthusiast and a regular participant in historic car activities including circuit racing, road tours, and Concours events. His father, the late California motoring pioneer Martin Swig, introduced David to his own unique version of California car culture; David consequently grew up immersed in the vintage car hobby. He has written for the Chicago Tribune, New York Times, Car and Driver, Autoweek, and Roundel, and was the Automotive Editor at The Oregonian and the Portland Tribune, and Executive Editor at Sports Car Market Magazine. These days, Paul writes classic car auction catalogs for RM and Gooding, for the soon-to-be-opened World of Speed Museum and for Hagerty’s European website. He was previously the curator, restorer, and historian for the JWR Automobile Museum, Mark is also a veteran of the concours circuit having exhibited vehicles and judging at numerous venues across the country. Kevin Clemens is an award winning writer and magazine editor. Lisa Noble is the President of the Sports Car Club of America, better known as the SCCA. She has been a nationally licensed motorsports driver since 1992 and in addition to her passion for motorsports she is an artist and a sculpture. She’s on the board of trustees for the Motorsports Hall of Fame and in 2014 she was recognized by the Women’s Sports Foundation and given their award for cultural change in the motorsports world. She’s also won the SCCA historic Kimberly Cup, held multiple track records at Sebring, Hallett, and Heartland Park and she was the first woman to earn a national race win in a Formula Vee.

Harrod Blank is one of the key figures behind the art car movement in the US. His website Art Car Agency is a place to find the most unusual automobiles ever created. He has designed and built several of his own art cars using a hodgepodge of found objects. The Camera Van (above) is covered in 2,750 cameras of which ten function. A VW Bug based oh My God! Car that has to be seen, to be believed. Then there is Pico De Gallo, an interactive VW music mobile. Henk Holsheimer is a designer and artist, with a strong focus on conceptual thinking and idea generation. With years of experience as concept manager for the LEGO Group and through collaboration with partners such as IDEO, Audi, BMW, and others his automotive design competencies derive from a lifelong passion for car design and its history. Henk lectures at art and design universities and curates art events and exhibitions.
In 2010 he published the book ‘Constructed Styles, LEGO bricks in urban art’. Thomas Bryant spent 36 years working at Bond-Parkhurst/CBS/Hachette as an editor in various positions. He started as a junior editorial assistant on the magazine Pickup, Van & 4WD that was getting started in 1972. Thomas later moved to Road & Track as an Associate Editor, and then in 1986 he became the Editor of Road & Track Specials—magazines that focused on exotic cars from around the world. Two years later he was promoted to Editor-in-Chief of Road & Track magazine where he had always longed to be. Thomas remained in that position for 20 years, until his retirement in the summer of 2008.

Shinoo Mapleton grew up in Detroit and admits his first memory is looking out at cars from his preschool window.  He started Sector111 in 2003 and operates in Temecula California. It is a company focused on lightweight sports cars including Lotus, Ariel Atom, Briggs Automotive Company and Alfa Romeo.  He is a lifelong auto fanatic and earned a mechanical engineering degree at GMI-Engineering Management Institute (now Kettering University). Chris Powell is the owner of Chris’s German Auto Service in Bellevue Washington. He’s run his shop for over 31 years caring for Porsche automobiles. Chris spent some of his early years in racing with Bruce Leven and Bayside Racing and he got his hands on some very serious Porsche race cars including: the RSR, 934, 935, 924, GTR, Lola Porsche, and the 962. The team ran at the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring and they won at Sebring in 1981. Chris is on the Porsche Club of America’s National Technical Committee and enjoys helping Club members with their cars and technical challenges.

The name “Big Daddy” Don Garlits is synonymous with drag racing. Don’s been dubbed the “King of the Dragsters” and is the patriarch of Top Fuel Drag Racing. His 17 World Championship titles and racing milestones are so numerous it would take me this entire show to list them all. Don’s won the prestigious NHRA U.S. Nationals a record 8 times and he’s raced for over four decades. His famous Swamp Rat series of 34 hand fabricated black race cars carried him to 144 national event wins. Today Don is the CEO of the Garlits Auto Museum in Ocala, Florida. The museum is a treasure trove of drag racing history and a destination for every fan to experience. The fastest Don's ever gone in a dragster? 323.04 mph in Swamp Rat 34 at the 2003 Gator Nationals. That's a quarter mile in 4.72 seconds!

He has been racing successfully ever since in the United States. He is a race winner in the former American LeMans and Grand Am series and well as the continental sports car series. Emme is a driver, racer, reviewer, and rabble-rouser. She is the principle driver and trophy winner for the Mega Monkey Motorsports 2 seat 1600 desert racecar, where she has podium finished in class 5U, class 11, and ultra-4. She is one of fewer than 20 American women to participate in the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles, a 9-day, all female off road rally in Morocco where they use no GPS. Emme reviews cars with the guys at the Fast Lane Car, one of the top automotive channels on YouTube. She holds an MFA in Costume Technology from North Carolina School of the Arts and she is a graduate of Yale School of Drama.  She lives in Washington DC and works at a well-known regional theatre. Emme also autocrosses her Mazdaspeed Miata whenever she can.

Mackena Bell is the first female owner/driver team in NASCAR history. She runs out of Thomasville, North Carolina and started racing when she was 11 years old in an Outlaw kart. In 2014 she drove the Rick Ware Racing number 23 Chevrolet Camaro. Last year Mackena made her debut in one of NASCAR’s premier touring series at Phoenix International Raceway and she is one of only a few women to compete in the Nationwide series. She is the only woman to graduate from NASCARS’s Drive for Diversity Program who races in the Nationwide series.

Chris Sneed owns and operates Sneed Speed Shop in Pfafftown, North Carolina and Sneed 4 Speed, an on line performance parts store. At his shop he and his team focus on helping clients win championships in their racecars. The shop’s services include a body shop, mechanical support, dyno tuning, and parts manufacturing. One of their specialties is the Mini Cooper and they race their own Mini. Chris and his brother have won 25 out of 29 races and 3 regional championships along with multiple endurance races. Bruce Thomson feels compelled to paint. He attended the Ontario College of Art, graduating from the Industrial Design Program where his favorite subjects were automotive. It was at this time that Bruce saw a painting of an F1 car in a store window and thought; “I could do better than that”. And he did. Thus began his obsession with the visual archiving of automobilia through sketching, illustration, and painting. Not satisfied with this, Bruce attended the Royal College of Art Vehicle Design Program in London, England where he sketched, conceived, drew and learned from some of the most talented and creative people in the design field. On graduation, he worked for Ford of Europe in Köln Germany, before returning to Canada to work as a Professor in the Industrial design Department at Humber College in Toronto where he teaches, amongst other things, automotive design.

Ingrid Steffensen discovered a passion for high-performance driving and a desire to write her first non-academic book about how a professor and dance mom found her inner speed demon at the racetrack. Fast Girl: Don’t Brake until You See the Face of God and Other Good Advice from the Racetrack is a funny, fast-paced, romp through the noise and stink of the male-dominated sport of amateur sports car racing. She went on to become an instructor with the BMW Club and when she’s not teaching men how to drive like Juan Manuel Fangio she can be found writing for a wide variety of publication including the New York Time, Popular Mechanics and others. Bob DeKorne has been involved in marketing classic car insurance since 1998.  He has been fortunate to attend nearly every major concours event in the country, as well as every major classic car auction for the past 17 years.  His career brings him into some of the finest private collections in the world, as well as many of the major automotive museums we all love to visit.  He’s part of the Heacock Classis Insurance team and has been an automotive enthusiast since he was about three years old. Chuck Beck has built numerous projects from dragsters to race cars to street cars and more. He is renown among automotive enthusiasts for his 550 Spyder, a replica of the iconic Porsche 550 Spyder from the 50s. He started producing the cars in 1982 and built 2,500 of those wonderful cars. In 1990 Chuck jointly developed the Shogun concept car and produced a competitive racecar with his replica of the Lister. In 1998 he developed the Beck 904 prototype, a replica coupe based on the original Porsche Carrera GTS that was launched in 1963. After selling his company Chuck continues to spend most of his time in the shop building cars and more recently a Lamborghini powered motorcycle.

Sylvain Tremblay is the owner and a driver at SpeedSource. He’s raced since winning the first race he ever entered-an SCCA autocross at the age of 16. Over the years his love of racing turned in to a business, and in 1995 he established SpeedSource. Today he runs the Mazda Prototype factory program. 
After finishing second in the Grand Sports Championship several times in the late 90's, in a Mazda RX-7 Twin Turbo, Sylvain put together a winning season in 2001 scoring 7 wins on the way to the Triple Crown Championship. In 2004 he took home his second professional Championship when he won the Grand Am Cup Sport Touring title.

Randy Pobst is a road racing driver with over eighty wins on the track. He’s had factory driving contracts with Porsche, Audi, Mazda, Volvo, and he currently races with Mazda, racing a Mazda MX-5 Miata in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. Randy is also a journalist and has been writing a column in SportsCar magazine for over ten years, and he conducts extensive testing with Motor Trend magazine. At the time of this interview Randy had just came off a victory in the Thunderhill 25 Hour in the Davidson Racing Norma sports racer and was preparing for another race as we talked.

Stacey David has his own custom shop called The Rattletrap that specializes in engine building, custom paint, suspension work, metal fabrication and everything in between. In the late 1990s he hosted and produced a new TV show called Trucks where he designed and built fantastic rides. That show became one of Spike TV’s highest rated shows. Today his successful Gearz television show is on the Velocity channel and MAV TV. His website and Stacey David’s Gearz Nation is a fantastic place for gear heads and automotive enthusiasts to go and learn tech tips, watch episodes, shop for cool products and have fun in the Gearz garage. Stacey's favorite catch phrase is “What are you working on?”

Jeff Braun is the Competition Director on the LMP2 Cars in the Tudor United Sports Car Series for SpeedSource Engineering and Mazda Racing. He attended his first race at the age of three and started karting at seven. He earned his Mechanical Engineering degree in 1981. After going to work to manage the Transact racing team he purchased the business after only two years and created a race engineering consulting business and Transact engineered has been a part of almost every kind of racecar in the world. He’s won 7 Sports Car championships along with the Daytona 24 Hours, seven Sebring 12 Hours and four Petit Le Mans. With fellow engineer, Paul Haney, Jeff wrote the racing engineering technical book, Inside Racing Technology.

Leslie Kendall is the Curator at the Petersen Automotive Museum. He was born in San Diego, California and has had an insatiable interest in automobiles and automotive history from an early age. After earning his MBA he entered mortgage banking, but left the lending profession after just seven years to volunteer full-time at the San Diego Automotive Museum where he was hired to be the curator after only eight months. He was invited to join the team responsible for creating the Petersen Automotive Museum in April 1993 and in October 1995 was named curator. He is a regular contributor to automotive media outlets (both print and broadcast), a concours d’elegance judge at events around the country, and frequently consults on automotive history related, public- and private-sector projects.

Seattle resident and racecar driver Don Kitch Jr. has been involved in motorsports for over 25 years. He is a veteran of over 200 professional and amateur racing starts. In 1987 Don and his wife Donna founded ProFormance Racing School at Pacific Raceway where he is the Chief Instructor. In 1997 Don founded Team Seattle focusing on the 24-Hours of Daytona Sports Car Race as a fundraiser for Children’s Hospital of Seattle and in the past 12 years they have raised nearly $6.5 million for the hospital. In 2009 Don teamed up with Patrick Dempsey and Joe Foster at Dempsey Racing in a Ferrari 430 GT2 at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans. Don is always looking ahead down the road as Pacific Raceway expands and grows and he enjoys his involvement in Sports Television Color Commentary and the creation of Motorsports Videos.

He’s a graduate of the Art Center of Design and has enjoyed an exceptionsl life and career around automobiles. He’s traveled all over the world shooting, directing, racing, and photographing cars. He’s collaborated with David Bull Publishing on many automotive books. He speaks and lectures and has driven in numerous races and rallies including 7 championships at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the Panama-Alaska Rally, the Baja 1000, and the TransSyberia Rally, to name just a few. Mike Renner is a professional driver for BMW and is responsible for corporate sales and the BMW Performance Center in Greenville South Carolina. He began racing in 1983 and Mike has competed in a variety of classes including GT, showroom stock, improved touring and sports racers for the past 27 years. He started instructing at the BMW Performance Center just after it’s opening in the fall of 1999 and his list of trainees includes new drivers, racers, F.B.I agents and Secret Service members who are assigned the task of presidential protection. Mike received international instructor certification in basic, advanced, advanced M vehicles, intensive, perfection, and racetrack. Included in Mike’s duties as a driver for BMW is the opportunity to drive BMW racecars from their historic fleet.

Traci Hrudka’s name is synonymous with drag racing and the Mr. Gasket Company that was founded by her father Tom Hrudka and Uncle Joe Hrudka. She’s started working in the company in 1982 and after the company was sold in 1997 she moved to Intermec Technologies. Today she operates the Quarter Mile Foundation along with Project 1320. Traci has set out to preserve drag racing’s history from the views of its pioneers and legends. Traci epitomizes the term “Life in the fast lane”.

Peter Bodensteiner is the Founder of Stance & Speed (third from the left above), a company that publishes and sells books for automotive enthusiasts. He is a 14-year veteran of automotive publishing and is an avid enthusiast, racing fan and driver. Peter has edited or published over 200 books and calendars, 14 of which have earned the International Automotive Media Award and the International Motor Press Association’s Ken W. Purdy award. His work has been displayed in museums around the world and hangs in private collections as well. Back in 1984 he fulfilled his dream of owning a Ferrari and photographed his Dino 246 Spider creating his own Ferrari calendar. He sent one to Enzo Ferrari and that began an unparalleled history of photographing Ferrari calendars. Today he is the only photographer to be sanctioned by Ferrari to shoot their annual calendar. It is produced in a limited number and has become a sought after prize by automotive enthusiasts around the world.

Kenny Welch is the owner of Kenny's Rod Shop in Boise Idaho. He’s been playing with cars and building hot rods for over 25 years. His focus is on cars from the 30s, 40s and 50s and as long as he and his talented crew are cutting and modifying vehicles they are happy. Their complete fabrication shop can handle chassis, body, paint and complete assembly projects. Jim Simpson is the owner of Contemporary Classics of WA in Clinton, Washington and Simpson Design. At his companies he oversees the restoration of interesting, older European cars and special design projects. Jim’s history with cars goes back to 1975 when he started his business and along the way he’s been involved in numerous custom autmotive ventures. He designed and built the Blue Ray 3 for the Nardi Company in Italy. That vehicle was displayed at Concorso Italiano in 1992. He’s worked with Kevin Hines and Chuck Beck where he built the Miami Roadster. He continues to design and build unique automobiles and projects while restoring European vehicles.

Geoff Hacker has been called “Captain Curiosity” and the author and Cars Yeah guest Tom Cotter titled him “The Snipe Hunter” in his book Corvette in the Barn. Geoff’s a college professor, automotive historian, researcher, and adventurer. He’s the king of automotive barn finds and he’ll go anywhere to uncover and bring back to life vehicles many of us never knew existed or thought were long gone. Along with his friend of 30 plus years Rick D’Louhy they co-produce the website Forgotten Fiberglass where you can find them and the treasures they uncover. And now they are working on a book to share with the world under the same titles.
