Arsenal of Democracy, Motown, The Motor City, The birthplace of the Detroit Dinosaur and the Yank Tank. During his younger years Jim jumped in to the world of commercial advertising however after a long successful career he decided to start painting and spurred by the esthetic of the late forties and early fifties he set off on a path to create his own style of fine art. His paintings have hung in galleries around the world and have been used in Hollywood motion pictures. His work has been featured in magazines in France, Italy, Spain, Australia and the U.S. Jim likes to say “You can almost smell the thirty weight motor oil, gun smoke, and cheap perfume when enjoying my art.”

John Baechtel owns Landspeed Media Group, a publishing firm that operates automotive technical and enthusiasts web sites including Hot Rod Engine Tech dot com. He also operates Prodyne Technologies, his motorsports consulting business and his Landspeed Restorations business which preserves and restores historic race cars. John is a 40 year industry veteran, an automotive performance consultant, publisher, author, and has written over 1,300 articles. He spent 17 years at the world’s premier performance magazine supervising and building an endless stream of high performance projects including restoration of the Summers Brothers Goldenrod land speed record holder for the Henry Ford Museum. And finally he has also assumed the duties of Public Relations Director and Event Coordinator for Mike Cook’s Bonneville Shootout, the official FIA/FIM international world speed record event held annually on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Steve Dawson has been an accomplished professional photographer for over 30 years. He is the youngest person to be awarded the Professional Photographer of America Master of Photography Degree. He’s photographed numerous celebrities and shot for most of the biggest corporations in the world. However it is Steve’s passion for motorsports and automobiles that brings him to Cars Yeah today. For over 32 years he’s shot Formula One, CART, ISMA, Indy Car, World Sports Car, American Le Mans, Goodwood Revival, Laguna Seca Historic Races, and many other venues. His work hangs in the homes of private collectors around the world and has been featured in magazines and books. It was his 30 year friendship with Phil Hill that led him to collaborate with author Doug Nye and Phil’s son Derek Hill to create the book Inside Track, a spectacular autobiography of Phil’s life racing and his photography.

Doug Nye, who lives in Surrey, England, is recognized as a world authority on competition cars and has been an automotive journalist and author for over 54 years. In 1963, at the age of 18 Doug went to work on the British magazine Motor Racing. He eventually became the Associate Editor and shortly thereafter, in 1968 he became a freelance writer and remains so till today. He has written for nearly every motorsport magazine and produced some 70 books on motor racing. He’s worked as a race car consultant for Bonhams Auction house, he’s a founding consultant to Goodwood Motorsports and is one of the organizers of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Revival Meeting, and members meeting since 1992. Doug is a movie archivist, worked on TV shows, is involved in the new documentary movie ‘Ferrari: Race to Immortality’ and is on the Advisory Council of the British national Motor Museum. His involvement in motorsports goes on, and on and on.

Derek Hill, a Santa Monica native, comes from an automotive family that has left their marks around the world. He is the son of Phil Hill, America’s first World Champion in Formula 1. Derek pursued a career in motorsports for over 10 years, taking class wins in the Daytona 24 Hours, Sebring 12 Hours, and many other driving for the factory BMW M3 Team. Today Derek is active in vintage racing and is a judge and MC at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Derek, along with award-winning motor racing historian and author Doug Nye, and American photographer Steve Dawson, have created and published an exceptional new biographical book titled Inside Track that chronicles his father Phil Hill’s racing career and features hundreds of his father’s color photographs. This massive book has been a ten-year collaboration and is now available for enthusiast to enjoy.

Ramsey Potts joined the team of RM/Sotheby’s Specialists in early 2017 after a 25 year career in the financial services industry. His lifelong love of all things automotive began as a child watching his father collect and race British sports cars. Ramsey holds a Diploma in Automotive Service and an ASE Technician Certification from Vale Technical Institute. At RM/Sotheby’s he specializes in European marques having owned and maintained numerous examples in addition to a DeLorean DMC12. He is a member of several car clubs and has raced Porsches, BMWs, and Mazdas on the SCCA and Grand-Am circuits while remaining active in kart racing throughout the Southeast. His recent career change is a result of deciding to do what he is passionate about, work in the world of collectible automobiles.

Kayla Randancer is a fine artist from Kalispell, Montana. She’s a self-taught, mix media artist who has a passion for capturing old, treasured classic cars, trucks, and bikes. She enjoys searching for old cars and trucks that need to be restored or uncovering parts to use on her own restoration projects. Jeff Bliemeister is the Executive Director of the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The AACA Museum is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution and it is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of vintage automobiles and their vast history. Jeff’s long career has included working at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, and he was the Curator at the Renfrew Museum and Park and at the AACA Museum as well. You’ll discover over 120 automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles at the museum with rotating and permanent exhibits and the vehicles range from a 1895 Chicago Benton Harbor to 2000 Suzuki Hyabusa Motorcycle with a vast range of spectacular vehicles and displays in between. Their educational programs are some of the finest in the country.

Todd Lozier is a Principal at Lochwood Lozier Custom Homes in Seattle, Washington. You may recognize Todd’s family name as it relates to automobiles. The Lozier Automobile Manufacturing company was founded in 1900 by Henry Abraham Lozier, Todd’s great, great Uncle. They built touring cars until 1915 and they were top of the line automobiles and the most expensive cars of their time. Todd owns a 1914 Lozier Model 84 as well as numerous other collectible cars and a 1953 Chris Craft runabout that his father bought new. He was an honorary judge for the Lozier Reunion at the Atlanta Concours in early October.
